Sorry I never could focus on one idea long enough to actually write an entire post so here are 3 sentences on each topic.- Status of my San Francisco Marathon Training—Going very well. Managed my 20 mile long run in a decent, although slower than normal time. This week caught either a cold/fever, had a reaction to severe dehydration—in any case Sunday was awful, Monday was barely tolerable and today is ok.
- Status of my Run on the Sly 50k training. GREAT! I love running trails and my trail work has been going very well the last few weeks. If I do SF and finish I will sign up for Run on the Sly and hope to wear a SUAR shirt while doing it!
- Is it finally Cadel Evans’ turn to win the Tour de France? I saw “cuddles” morph from a whiny wheelsucker to a determined, focused, ass kicker. Yes it is his turn. Go Cuddles!
- The effect of 50k training on domestic bliss. I’m very lucky that my hubby trains on his bike in a way that compliments my 50k training. Long run/Long ride days coincide so we can then be together with the RugRat afterwards (she is usually just waking up by the time we return). Planning meals and buying enough groceries are more of a challenge and we’ve had more than one occasion of, “BUT I thought YOU went to the grocery store!!!”
- My bookshelf contents – Do I have a problem? I think I may have a problem with buying cookbook—specifically Vegan Cookbooks—since rugrat is vegetarian and I don’t eat any dairy. I have so many that they cover 3 shelves on the bookshelf and 2 shelves in the kitchen. My latest acquisition was The Engine 2 diet.
- Caring for an elderly parent: the “do’s” and “don’ts”: Don’t show frustration at an unchangeable condition. Do show love and compassion. Don’t hide the remote control to the TV.
- How to keep your sanity when you are surrounded by idiots. Breathe. Listen to meditation CDs like Gael Chirella’s “A.M./P.M. Meditation”. Purchase a temperpedic mattress so restful sleep can occur (seriously, I did this and it made a world of difference).
- My ultimate dream: Sierra Nevada Trail Runs 50-miler or American River 50-miler. I would so love to do either of these races someday. A running buddy was given a free entry to AR50 for next year and I am wondering, is it a sign from Nike Above? Shall I, in helping her prepare, also prepare myself ?
- Are successive migraines an excuse for murder? This is related to the sanity post (two above)—I’ve had several migraines lately probably caused by stress. But to answer your question, every lawyer I’ve consulted said that migraines are not an excuse for murder. PMS is a “maybe.”
- Status of my San Francisco Marathon Training—Going very well. Managed my 20 mile long run in a decent, although slower than normal time. This week caught either a cold/fever, had a reaction to severe dehydration—in any case Sunday was awful, Monday was barely tolerable and today is ok.

Post problem
I’ve started, edited and scrapped at least 5 posts over the last few weeks. I can’t believe that anything I want to write about would seem remotely interesting to anyone other than me. Topics of posts include:
